Snack Swaps: Immunity Boosters

Okay I know it’s not a “snack” but I had to post since everyone around me is getting sick…

Winter season is approaching and that means gross germs are spreading everywhere and quickly! Save yourself from joining the “please bring me chicken noodle soup, I feel like crap” party (usually when one friend is sick, it doesn’t take too long for the rest to fall victim).

You may have heard of Airborne, the immune support supplement that was invented by a teacher. I started taking this in college (my best friend, who is a teacher ironically, recommended it to me) right when I felt that I was getting sick or surrounded by a ton of germs, to give myself an immunity boost.  It tasted great (I like the berry flavor) and was fine with it. Honestly, I thought it was the most genius product ever.. until I found something better..

For this week’s Snack Swaps, I’m voting for EBOOST, one of my favorite products (introduced to me by Foodtrainers), in lieu of Airborne.

Before fully committing to EBOOST, I looked closely at its nutrient profile and ingredients (I’m the snack queen what did you expect?).

Both EBOOST and Airborne contain key vitamins and minerals for immunity including zinc, vitamin C, A, E, and selenium, but Airborne is doesn’t contain Vitamin D, which also plays role in immunity health, and is a vitamin that many Americans are deficient in (in 2010, Vit D deficiency in U.S. adult  was 41.6%!).  Don’t worry, saving Vitamin D talk for another time…

Ingredient wise, on the Airborne label, I see “natural and artificial flavor,” which is questionable and sucralose (yup, that’s the artificial sweetener Splenda).  When looking at EBOOST’s label, it contains stevia, a natural sweetener and has no artificial flavors or colorings.

One of the biggest pluses of EBOOST is the natural energy it provides. It contains Vitamin B12, which helps combat low energy levels, and green tea leaf extract for that natural caffeine boost.

Not that I’m against’s just that EBOOST gives you both an immunity boost and an energy boost.. naturally. I like both the orange and pink lemonade flavors but if I were to choose, pink lemonade would be my go-to.  For those who need a natural energy and immunity lift, this is your product 🙂

Happy Boosting,

I have been boosting for 2 years now and didn’t catch a cold since then! I like taking EBOOST in the early afternoon, 1h after lunch. That way, I can keep drinking my small coffee in the morning (I’m a coffee lover) and then drink EBOOST for my afternoon pick me up. Great review too!
